“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)

Our time here on this planet is limited.  Time seems to pass quickly.  Here we are in the year 2026, but what happened to last year?  Time just kind of flashed before our eyes; at least that’s how I felt!

This was not the case when I was younger.  Facing the start of 1st grade, I dreaded the thought of 12 years of school ahead of me, and as far as I was concerned, time passed very slowly.  But then, as a responsible adult, time started to pass a bit more quickly.  So much to do; so little time to do it.

This is why we are advised to make our days count, to not waste our time on meaningless endeavors.  We can leave a legacy of love for our families and friends.  This legacy is built upon the love of Christ which has been instilled in our hearts.  This legacy tells others that there is one way that leads to life and life everlasting; a life which is filled with the hope, peace, joy, and love that Jesus brought into the world.  This is a dream and goal worth pursuing.

Prayer: Dear Lord, you have given us much, and we are very thankful.  Help us in our daily walk with you, so that we might reflect your image.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
