“Hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.” (Romans 5:5)

     The hope we have as followers of Christ is not a “wish.” It is built upon what we know about Jesus.  The more we study the word of God, the more we know of not only God’s existence, but we are aware of his faithfulness and unbroken promises.  When we become aware of how he is working in our lives, it gives us even more confidence.

     Everyone needs this hope, because it gives us a much better outlook on our lives.  When everything is going well, we can give thanks and praise to God, but for the times we are hit with bad news, we do not have to let doom and despair rule the day.  If we have the Spirit of God within, our Creator gives us the much-needed hope to deal with everything that comes our way.

Prayer: Dear Lord, we are thankful for the hope that you have instilled in us.  We pray for those who are without you, because we know how much of a difference you can make in their lives.  Move their hearts and minds toward you.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
