“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18)
The message of the cross could possibly be perceived as foolishness to the nonbeliever, if they feel that the Bible is a myth and people are just holding onto some kind of hope that there is a God and he has provided a way to heaven. So much is unseen, and seeing is believing, right?
There was one point very early in life that I kind of felt that way. However, it would be sad to think that you are born, you live your life, you die, and that’s it. Nothing beyond that.
I could get into how scripture provides some alarming truths about the existence of God, the saving power of Christ, and how the Holy Spirit works in our lives, but it’s all there for us if we just take the time to examine it. I just know that when I started to take a serious look at these things, the message of the cross was no longer foolish. In fact, it changed my life, and it has changed the lives of countless others.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I pray for all who are questioning things. Move their hearts and minds in your direction, revealing the undeniable truths that you provide and how you are changing lives forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
