“Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble.” 2 Peter 1:10)

God knows and we know the choice we made, to commit our lives to him.  That’s the way it was meant to be—to call on the name of the Lord, and for his ways to become our ways.  In doing so, God has granted us salvation, and that remains an unbroken promise.

Peter is asking us to confirm our salvation in our lives by striving towards a holy life, growing more like Christ, trusting in His sufficient grace, and depending on Him in all things.  We will not stumble so quickly in our Christian walk, we will not start to doubt God's Word regarding our salvation, and we will not be tossed about by every changing wind of doctrine that seeks to place believers under condemnation when the Word of God clearly tells us that there is no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus.  And the more we know God's Word, the more we trust His Word and our eternal heritage in Christ.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I pray that as I walk in faith, the truth of my salvation becomes the greatest reality in my life, day by day.  In Jesus' name, Amen.
