“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” (Hebrews 12:1-2)

     We face daily struggles against the influences of the world, which can lead to sin.  But we have a force that is so much more powerful than the works of darkness.  When we choose God, we have the Holy Spirit within to empower us and help us make the right decisions and it keeps us encouraged, knowing that God is with us. 

     Jesus did it all for us on the cross, and while we can’t repay him, we can be reminded of his love for us and to live according to his precepts.  This is beneficial not only to us, but to everyone around us.  “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for saving me.  Help me to closely walk with you, all the days of my life.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
